Installing a Front Door in Arlington Columbus

P1010694My customer wanted me to remove this nice door and replace it with one that sealed better. After I took it off I observed the threshold (under the base of the door) was rotted and rain damaged.  To fix that,  I bought some cement and cemented it all in to make it watertight, air tight and solid.  Cementing the threshold made it better to support the door and handle foot traffic. I charged the customer about $200 plus materials.  The new door cost about $130, but she got it on sale for $110.

Built in Bookshelf in Upper Arlington, Ohio

At my previous home west of Upper Arlington, Columbus  we wanted a  built in bookshelf with adjustable shelving.  The project went from floor to ceiling and took me 3 days to complete.  I used press board for the shelves and cedar and pine for the fronts.  They come in handy for the new tenant of my old condo.  I still miss them.

Screening a Back Porch in Arlington

I received a call to screen in a Back Porch in Upper Arlington, Columbus.  The posts were already there holding up the porch.  I added the new screens and the cedar siding to hold the new screen tightly. The project took me two days and cost $500 labor.  The homeowner picked up the materials.

Building a Fence in Delaware

P1010568

Building a Redwood Fence near Delaware. This fence ran 50 yards and had 1 post every 8 feet. The previous fence had blown over, so homeowner Mike elected to make it higher and stronger. I dug out the posts and cemented them in. The smaller light colored part is a gate made from the older fence and cleverly disquised so you don’t even know it is there.
